Dele Momodu Urges Akpabio to Reconcile with Natasha

Veteran journalist and media mogul, Dele Momodu, has called for peace in the ongoing political feud between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Momodu pleaded with Akpabio to end the fight, emphasising that “it is not every battle you must fight and win.”

The rift between Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan escalated in March 2025 after the Kogi Central Senator accused the Senate President of sexual harassment, following earlier altercations between both in the Senate chamber over seating arrangement.

In response, the Senate swiftly suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months, citing indiscipline, which sparked national outrage.

Amid the controversy, Momodu’s statement appeared to be a direct appeal to Akpabio to reconsider his approach in order to end the feud and attendant melodrama.

“AKPABIO, AKPABIO, AKPABIO… Please, make peace urgently… It is not every battle you must fight and win… For the past few weeks, I have voluntarily been seeking peace because “BLESSED are the peacemaker,” Momodu wrote.

He further warned against underestimating Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing her as “a tough coconut you shouldn’t use your head to crack.”

“Do not underrate this lady… Use your enormous power to seek peace… SENATOR NATASHA is obviously a tough coconut you shouldn’t use your head to crack…”

“My love to you and yours…,” he ended.

The Senate suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan on March 6 for “gross misconduct” after failing to appear before the Senate Ethics and Privileges Committee to defend herself over allegations of misconduct.

This was after the chaos that erupted in the senate over sitting arrangements, as Akpoti-Uduaghan said she had not been given prior notice. Akpoti-Uduaghan further alleged that the Senate president had been harassing her sexually.

Akpoti-Uduaghan has since then made several shocking revelations.
