The Registrar of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Professor Yahuza Suleiman Imam, has mourned the passing of Sheikh Mainasara Liman Tudun Wada Zaria, the National Chairman of the Preachers Committee of Fityanul Islam.
Professor Yahuza described the death of the revered Islamic scholar as a great loss to the Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large, considering his significant contributions to the propagation of Islam.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen (Iyan Zazzau); His Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli; the Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamilu Ahmad (JAGA); the Chairman of Kaduna State Fityanul Islam, Sheikh Rabi'u Abdullahi Ganganfa; and the entire Muslim community over the loss of Sheikh Mainasara Liman.
Sheikh Mainasara Liman passed away on Saturday afternoon at a hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness.
The funeral prayer, led by Sheikh Salahuddeen Nyas, was held at Filin Mallawa Eid Prayer Ground along Jos Road at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Thousands of sympathizers from all walks of life attended the Janaza (funeral prayer) of the revered Islamic cleric, who dedicated his life to the teaching and spread of Islamic knowledge.
Dignitaries who attended the funeral included His Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli; the Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamilu Ahmad (JAGA); former Executive Secretary of the National Hajj Commission, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar; Islamic scholars, traditional leaders, and many sympathizers who joined thousands of mourners in paying their last respects to the late Sheikh Mainasara Liman.
