The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has pledged to protect innocent citizens against deception, oppression, and intimidation, while ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.

Addressing journalists during his maiden press conference on Wednesday, CP Aliyu reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, maintaining law and order, and enforcing modern policing standards in line with global best practices.

"The objective of modern policing is not just about crime control but about reinforcing public trust and confidence," he said.

"Our strategy will be driven by integrated intelligence-led community policing. This goes beyond traditional law enforcement to embrace human security and developmental services, supported by professional expertise and strong community partnerships," he assured.

He emphasised that the command under his leadership would implement proactive, preventive, and where necessary, reactive approaches to policing, all guided by intelligence at strategic, operational, and tactical levels.

CP Aliyu stated that his administration will incorporate key elements of modern crime control and conflict management, targeting prolific offenders, high-risk areas, and major public events through coordinated community engagement and intelligence-led patrol systems.

He further stated that "Our policing efforts will be focused on actionable intelligence and practical crime prevention. We will map our areas of responsibility based on geography, demographics, and socio-economic crime data to guide effective operations."

He assured that all investigations will be intelligence-driven and evidence-based. He also warned officers against misconduct, stating that discipline, professionalism, and ethical conduct will be non-negotiable under his command.

CP said, "Any act of indiscipline, corruption, or unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated. Officers will be held accountable for both their actions and inactions."

The Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for assigning him to Bauchi State.

CP Aliyu also assured collaboration with the media to promote peace and security in the state, while calling on stakeholders and community members to join hands in the fight against crime.

He further added, “We will provide the necessary guidance and motivation to our personnel to ensure optimal performance, within the resources available. By the grace of Almighty Allah, we will confront and overcome all emerging security challenges in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
