The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Cisco, has successfully concluded a four-week digital skills bootcamp under the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) initiative. The programme trained 50 young Nigerians in practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), IT Essentials, and Data Science.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mrs. Chioma Okee-Agugwo, Head of NITDA’s South West Zonal Office, who represented the Director General, emphasised the critical need for a digitally empowered nation capable of competing in the global economy. She noted that digital literacy plays a vital role in empowering youth, enhancing employability, and driving inclusive growth in the digital era.

“This initiative is not just about training; it’s about creating a foundation for national transformation through digital capacity building,” she said.

The bootcamp aligns with NITDA’s strategic objectives on digital skills development and youth empowerment. It also supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic diversification through industrialisation, digitisation, creative industries, manufacturing, and innovation.
