The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zamfara State Sector Command, in collaboration with the Zamfara State Government, is set to commence training for public drivers across the federal, state, and local government levels.
Speaking to journalists, the Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma’aji, disclosed that all necessary arrangements have been made to kick off the training program, which aims to enhance the capacity of government-employed drivers in the state.
Commander Ma’aji noted that Governor Dauda Lawal has given full assurance and expressed commitment to providing the necessary support for the capacity-building initiative.
“As the lead agency in traffic control and management, our goal is to equip public drivers with modern knowledge and skills that will ensure improved safety on our roads,” he stated.
While acknowledging that most public drivers already have a foundational understanding of traffic laws, Ma’aji emphasised the importance of training and retraining to align their knowledge and skills with global best practices in road safety management.
He commended Governor Lawal for improving the road network across the state and for allocating two patrol vehicles to the FRSC Sector Command to boost its operational efficiency.
The Sector Commander also appealed to the state government to install more traffic signs to enhance road safety and guidance for motorists.
“Traffic signs are critical in guiding road users and ensuring effective traffic control and safety,” he said.
Ma’aji concluded by calling for collective action from all citizens to support traffic management and road safety efforts in the state.
