The newly inaugurated Katsina State Agricultural Mechanisation Centre is equipped with 400 brand-new tractors and a range of farming implements, positioned to support agricultural activities across the state's 34 local government areas.
Governor Dikko Radda revealed that the tractors were acquired through a N25 billion intervention fund from the Federal Government.
He also highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of 160 kilometers of roads, alongside notable improvements in electricity, water supply and healthcare services—developments he said have significantly enhanced the quality of life for residents.
The facility was commissioned by President Bola Tinubu on the first day of his working visit to Katsina State.
According to a statement on the X handle of Tinubu's spokesperson, Dada Olusegun, Governor Radda also added that the Ministry of Agriculture had supplied the state with 4,000 pumping machines to enhance irrigation farming.
He said 448,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser were distributed to farmers last year, and this year, they will receive 400,000 metric tonnes.
