The Niger State Government is set to host the inaugural flight for the 2025 Hajj exercise in Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in the nation's pilgrimage preparations.
This development follows the state's commendable pace in ensuring timely and effective planning for this year’s Hajj operations.
Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, disclosed this in a statement announcing the official flag-off of the inaugural flight.
He revealed that UMZA Aviation Services, the airline responsible for transporting pilgrims from the state, will begin airlifting operations on Friday, May 9, 2025. A total of 2,881 registered pilgrims from Niger State are expected to be airlifted.
Sheikh Awwal Aliyu noted that the Board is working diligently to ensure all aspects of the pilgrimage are well coordinated, adding that preparations are in full swing to guarantee a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience for the pilgrims.
He commended Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for his unwavering support and leadership, which he said has greatly contributed to the state's leading role in the 2025 Hajj preparations.
