The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, calling for prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, and purposeful leadership.
In a press statement issued on Friday in Zaria by his Personal Assistant on Media and Communication, Nuhu Basheer Masa, the DG extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire NILEST community and the broader Muslim faithful in Nigeria.
Dr. Imam described Eid-el-Kabir as a time to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and faith, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and as taught by the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“We must embody these virtues, just as Prophet Ibrahim (AS) exemplified complete submission to Allah's will and as our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has taught us,” he said.
He urged the Muslim community to offer sincere prayers for Nigeria’s leaders at all levels, emphasizing that only through divine guidance can the nation achieve responsible and effective governance.
Dr. Imam also called on Muslims to uphold the spirit of sacrifice, which he noted is a defining hallmark of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. He encouraged everyone to show compassion, support one another, and contribute positively to societal harmony.
“May Almighty Allah accept all our sacrifices during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha. May our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship be accepted — Ameen,” he added.
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid-ul-Adha, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God's command, symbolizing the values of faith, sacrifice, and submission to the divine will.
