The President of the Nineteen Seventeen Northern Consensus Movement of Nigeria, amalgamation of 598 Group residing in 36 states of Nigeria, Dr. Awwal Aliyu Abdullahi, has commended the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for his dedication to enhancing security in Nigeria.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by Dr, Awwal Aliyu Abdullahi said
"Working in compliance with the strict directive by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu to nip security challenges facing the country, The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede relocated to Benue state to personally oversee military operations aimed at restoring peace in the state.This move demonstrates his commitment to curbing all forms of insecurity in Nigeria.
"The COAS's visit to Benue State is a testament to his proactive approach to addressing security challenges. He met with field commanders to discuss strategies and boost morale and visit affected communities to reassure residents of the Army's commitment to their safety.
The recent COAS conference held in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, is a testament to Lt General Oluyede's commitment to addressing security challenges in the Northern Region and Nigeria by extension
The statement added, "Under Lieutenant General Oluyede's leadership, the Nigerian Army has made significant contributions to enhancing security capacity, infrastructure, training, equipping, and administration.
Dr Awwal maintained that "General Oluyede is also holding stakeholders' interactions in different states to stem the tide of insecurity.
The Nigerian Army, under General Oluyede's leadership, indicates aggressive development, behavioural, and tactical change in the fight against insecurity. The COAS's efforts have boosted the morale of troops and enhanced patriotism and nationalism
Dr. Awwal commended General Oluyede for his dedication and commitment to the Nigerian Army's effectiveness and welfare. As citizens, our civic responsibility is to consistently support the COAS, the Nigerian Army, and the Armed Forces for success.
