Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to executing quality, people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of the common people.
The governor made the remark on Friday during an inspection tour of completed and ongoing projects in Birnin Kebbi. He emphasized that his government remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy, regardless of political criticism from opposition parties.
“We are committed to serving the people, especially the masses. No amount of opposition criticism will distract us from our developmental agenda,” he said.
Governor Idris expressed satisfaction with the performance of contractors handling various projects, particularly commending the Ministry of Higher Education for its supervision of the new extension of the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Ambursa, a suburb of Birnin Kebbi. He also lauded progress at one of the Mega Schools, which he noted is about 70 percent complete.
“I want to use this opportunity to debunk the baseless claims made by some opposition elements who say we haven’t executed any projects. You, the journalists, can see for yourselves—our projects are physically visible across the state,” he stated.
The governor further declared that his political mandate is divinely ordained, expressing confidence in his continued leadership.
“I rely solely on God, who gives and takes power at His will. My victory is from God, and no one can alter it. I believe the same God will grant me success in the 2027 general elections,” he added.
Governor Idris, who had just returned from Abuja after attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Council meeting, immediately began a statewide inspection of key projects.
He began with an unscheduled visit to the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery in Ambursa and continued to inspect township roads in Birnin Kebbi, as well as ongoing work at Mega Schools and other infrastructural projects.
