'Katagum Zone Movement for Senator Shehu Buba Umar' has urged members representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Buba Umar to contest the 2027 Bauchi State Governorship election.

The endorsement came during a massive town hall meeting held in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum local government Area, where thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters gathered in solidarity.

Speaking at the endorsement rally, Hon. Tijjani Mohammed Aliyu, former Majority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, said Buba's genuine concern for the people of Bauchi State earned him the movement's support.

"Senator Shehu Buba respects us, values our people, and calls on party members to respect one another. Politics shouldn't be a do-or-die affair," Tijjani emphasised.

He added that the call was a collective decision by stakeholders from the seven local government areas in the Katagum zone, who strongly believe Senator Buba is competent and well-positioned to lead Bauchi State.

Tijjani also urged Senator Buba to declare his intention to run for governor, citing his achievements and humility as key attributes that endear him to the people.

Also speaking, Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam called on the youth to support younger candidates in the coming election, warning against voting in aging politicians who "will only be traveling abroad for medical attention."

"It's time for the youth to rally behind the youth. Senator Shehu Buba represents that new energy," he declared.

On his part, Alhaji Muhammad Sade (Usman), the Director General of Senator Buba's campaign, urged APC members to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence, stressing the need to support whoever emerges from the party's primaries.

"Let us respect every aspirant. Whoever wins the ticket must be supported by others. That’s how we'll win in 2027," he advised.

He also urged supporters to begin grassroots mobilisation by identifying and lobbying delegates ahead of the party primaries.
