The Deputy Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State, Hon. Yakubu Musa Salka, has reaffirmed that the party remains united and under a single, recognized leadership, cautioning against any attempt to cause division or impersonate the state party leadership.

Speaking to journalists in Minna, Hon. Salka emphasized that the ADC in Niger State is under the leadership of Alhaji Musa Hassan, and warned that anyone wishing to join the party must first formally resign from their previous political party in writing, and submit their membership application through the ADC chairman of their constituency for proper registration.

“There is only one ADC in Niger State, and it is under the leadership of Alhaji Musa Hassan. Any attempt to divide the party is being orchestrated by the acting National Treasurer, Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmed, who has no authority to alter the current party leadership. Alhaji Musa Hassan has not been found guilty of any wrongdoing, and thus remains the party’s recognized chairman,” Salka declared.

He added that the national leadership of the party, under the guidance of Senator David Mark, has affirmed Alhaji Musa Hassan’s position as both the state chairman and head of the coalition of parties seeking to merge with the ADC in Niger State. As such, Salka stressed that any party meetings organized outside the authority of Alhaji Musa Hassan are illegal and should be disregarded.

Referencing internal attempts at division, Salka recalled that at the state congress held at New Falcon Hotel in Tunga on April 2, 2022, Muhammad Auta was duly elected as Deputy State Public Relations Officer. However, he alleged that some individuals are now using Auta's name to sow discord within the party.

“Anyone parading themselves as party leader outside the recognized structure is sabotaging the party, and we will not tolerate it,” he warned.

Salka also revealed that during a recent meeting at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday, the national leadership once again confirmed Alhaji Musa Hassan as the valid chairman of the party in Niger State. He is also to remain the head of the merging coalition until the next national convention establishes new leadership.

He reiterated that the ADC welcomes new members but reminded all intending defectors that party rules must be followed: a formal resignation from one’s current party, and application through the proper local channels.

“We cannot allow people to bypass the grassroots structure for personal gain. Those joining the party must respect due process,” he emphasized.

The deputy chairman further urged all party members to reject any invitations to meetings convened by Muhammad Auta or Dr. Mani Ibrahim, labeling such gatherings as unauthorized and unlawful.

In a significant development, Salka announced that the State Working Committee (SWC) has unanimously agreed to formally unveil the State Party Secretariat in Minna on Saturday, September 13, 2025, as part of preparations to relaunch the party’s activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Any attempts to sabotage the party for personal interest will not be tolerated. We are determined to uphold both the constitution of the party and the laws of the land,” he asserted.

Concluding his address, Salka said the ADC remains committed to building a strong political force capable of tackling Nigeria’s major challenges—including insecurity, corruption, and unemployment.

“The ruling APC has thrown Nigeria into a state of directionless leadership. We call on all patriotic Nigerians who believe in effective governance to mobilize their supporters, secure their voter cards, and support the ADC as we work toward rescuing the country in 2027,” he said.
