A formal petition has been submitted to the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission (JSC), demanding an investigation into the conduct of Mr Musa Jimoh Alonge, Director of Enforcement in the state’s judiciary.

The petition, authored by Zangina Media Consultant and addressed to the Chairman of the Commission and Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu, alleges misconduct and abuse of office on the part of Mr Alonge.

In the document, the petitioner urged the Commission to establish an independent panel to investigate issues surrounding the enforcement of court orders, the handling of land-related disputes in Karu and Mararaba, as well as concerns regarding staff welfare.

The petition further alleged that some of Mr Alonge’s actions may have breached the standards expected of public officers, and recommended his immediate suspension in accordance with the Public Service Rules, pending the outcome of a full investigation. It also proposed the creation of a standing Land Dispute Resolution Committee to tackle the growing number of land conflicts in the state.

'Among the concerns raised were claims of selective enforcement, irregular staff transfers, and alleged business interests involving members of Mr Alonge’s family. However, the petition did not present direct evidence of wrongdoing, but instead called for an inquiry to uphold public confidence in the judiciary.

The petitioner stressed that the move was in the public interest and aimed at promoting accountability and protecting the integrity of the judicial system in Nasarawa State.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Mr Alonge nor the Judicial Service Commission had issued any official response to the petition.
