The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, Bologi Ibrahim, has raised concern over what he described as the misinterpretation of a recent statement made by his principal, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, regarding the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Ibrahim said the Governor’s remarks were taken out of context, particularly by what he called "mischief makers."
He noted that the misrepresentation had unfortunately fueled unnecessary debate on both social and traditional media platforms, as many people interpreted the governor’s words literally, missing the underlying message.
“The Governor was simply expressing his deep passion and unwavering commitment to confronting the critical challenges facing Niger State,” the CPS explained.
Ibrahim criticised those he said engaged in “negative imagination” by interpreting the governor’s comment at face value, adding that Governor Bago remains steadfast in his dedication to serving humanity and advancing the state.
He emphasized that well-meaning residents are proud of the Governor’s pragmatic and forward-thinking approach to development, assuring that the administration will not be distracted by misinterpretations—intentional or otherwise.
The CPS reaffirmed that Farmer Governor Umaru Bago is resolute in the pursuit of his “New Niger” agenda, which continues to garner support across the state.
