The Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Zazzau Emirate Council to protecting the rights and interests of all communities within the emirate.

The Emir made this declaration while addressing complaints presented by the Sabon Gari Market Traders Association and the Ganuwa Auto Technicians Association during a meeting in Zaria.

He emphasised that the traditional council’s primary responsibility is to uphold justice and ensure that all parties are fairly heard in the resolution of disputes.

“I urge complainants to always keep documents and evidence that can assist in resolving their issues effectively,” the Emir advised.

The Chairman of the Sabon Gari Market Traders Association, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Alolo, raised concerns over alleged violations of an agreement between the traders and both the market management committee and a private firm overseeing operations. He cited unresolved disputes over shop ownership and growing insecurity as major challenges facing the traders.

Alhaji Alolo appealed to the Emirate Council to intervene, describing the Emir as a father figure to all and calling for justice in the matter.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Ganuwa Auto Technicians Association, Malam Tanko, expressed apprehension over reports suggesting that the Kaduna State Government, in collaboration with certain individuals, plans to relocate their operations to an area behind the Kufena Hills.

He noted that over 4,000 people, most of them young apprentices, depend on the current location for their livelihood and to support their families.

In response, the Emir assured the associations that the council would engage all relevant stakeholders to seek a sustainable resolution. He also urged all parties to remain peaceful and maintain harmony while the issues are being addressed.
