The Jigawa State Government has disbursed a total of ₦277,044,000 as compensation to 14 families affected by the reconstruction of the Gumel Central Mosque.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, urged beneficiaries to utilise the funds judiciously in building new homes. Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Administration and Finance, Office of the SSG, Alhaji Abdullahi Sa’idu, he encouraged the families to accept their relocation in good faith.
Malam Ibrahim stressed that fairness and equity guided the compensation process to ensure justice for all beneficiaries.
In his remarks, Chairman of Gumel Local Government Council, Honourable Muhammad Gako, commended Governor Umar A. Namadi for the gesture, pledging the council’s full support for the mosque reconstruction project.
The event, held at the Palace of the Emir of Gumel, Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Sani, drew traditional leaders, community members, and senior government officials, who witnessed the distribution of funds aimed at easing the resettlement challenges faced by the affected families.
