The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has issued a scathing warning to the Federal Government, state governments, and public institutions to steer clear of any business dealings with Israel, branding such moves as “a romance with a terrorist state” and “blood-soaked business.”
The warning follows Monday’s announcement in Abuja by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel-Harpaz of a new initiative to support 40 Nigerian startups, made in the presence of senior officials from Nigeria’s foreign ministry.
In a statement on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, MURIC’s Founder and Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, condemned the deal in the strongest terms, describing the Israeli-backed startups as “vehicles of deception from a rogue genocidal state.”
“It is morally wrong for Nigeria to sign any business deal with Israel at a time the Zionist state is at loggerheads with the rest of the world,” Akintola said. “Doing business with Israel now is akin to dancing on the graves of innocent women and children massacred by a belligerent, war-mongering state. Every single sheqel from the Bank of Israel is blood money.”
MURIC accused Israel of defying the United Nations, mocking all 193 member states, and committing atrocities that have killed more than 60,000 Palestinians — mostly women, children, and even Christians in churches — since 7 October 2024. The group further alleged that Israel is starving besieged Palestine and committing massive human rights violations.
The organisation called on Nigerians to “shun Israel’s money and genocide-infested businesses,” warning that any partnership with Tel Aviv amounts to complicity in crimes against humanity.
