The leadership of the Arewa Youth Congress (AYC), led by its Speaker, Ambassador Hassan Sadau, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Livestock Development, Professor Salim Abdurrahman Lawal, in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The high-level meeting focused on youth development and empowerment opportunities within the livestock sector. In his remarks, Prof. Lawal commended AYC’s foresight and assured the delegation that his ministry is committed to launching practical initiatives aimed at encouraging youth participation in agriculture—particularly livestock development—as a sustainable pathway to wealth creation, beyond reliance on white-collar jobs.
Ambassador Sadau, while appreciating the Commissioner’s open-door policy and willingness to engage youth leaders across the region, passed a Vote of Confidence on behalf of the youth of Northern Nigeria. He described Prof. Lawal’s appointment as both historic and visionary, noting that his leadership aligns with the aspirations of young people seeking economic inclusion.
The AYC delegation comprised five youth leaders representing the North West, North Central, and North East geopolitical zones. The visit reaffirmed the Congress’s commitment to collaborating with government agencies in promoting empowerment and economic transformation through agriculture and livestock development.
