The Movement for North East Organisation Forum has called on former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to exercise caution in his public remarks concerning the federal government’s ongoing efforts to combat insecurity.

Speaking to journalists yesterday in Abuja, the chairman of the forum, Alhaji Abdulrahman Buba Kwacham—also the Sarkin Fulani of Mubi Emirate in Adamawa State—urged political leaders to support the nation's security operations rather than make divisive or critical statements.

Kwacham emphasized that the country's security agencies, under the coordination of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, have been working tirelessly to tackle insurgency, banditry, and related crimes across various regions.

He noted that recent achievements in restoring peace to several affected communities should be recognized and applauded, not undermined.

“Our security forces have recorded tremendous success, reclaiming territories once controlled by bandits and drastically reducing cases of kidnapping, cattle rustling, and other criminal activities,” Kwacham stated.

He particularly commended the NSA for what he described as “notable breakthroughs,” including the recent arrest of high-profile bandit leaders in Niger State.

“Security is a collective responsibility. We must all resist the temptation to politicize it,” he added.
