President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Kaduna State today, Friday, September 19, as part of a brief but high-profile itinerary that includes attending a wedding ceremony and paying a courtesy visit to a former First Lady.
According to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu will be attending the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari and Safiyya Shehu Idris. Nasirudeen is the son of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, who represents Zamfara West in the National Assembly.
In addition to attending the ceremony, the President is expected to visit Hajiya Aisha Buhari, the widow of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari. The courtesy call will take place at the Buhari family residence in Kaduna.
“The President will return to Abuja on the same day after the visit,” the statement noted.
The visit is seen as both a personal and political engagement, reflecting the President’s continued connection with key figures across the northern region.
Security has been heightened in parts of Kaduna in preparation for the President’s arrival, with state and federal officials expected to accompany him during the visit.
