The First Lady of Zamfara State, Her Excellency Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has participated in the 2025 United Nations International Day of Peace celebration held in New York, United States of America.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Rabi Yusuf, Press Secretary to the Office of the First Lady, Zamfara State.
The high-profile international event, themed “Peace is a Verb: Act Now for a Peaceful World”, highlighted the urgency of collective action, justice, and global unity in building a more peaceful and inclusive world.
Speaking at the event, Her Excellency described her participation as a significant opportunity to represent Zamfara State and Nigeria on the global stage. She underscored the vital role Nigerian women—especially wives of governors—continue to play in fostering peace, stability, and social development at the grassroots level.
She further urged women and young people to become torchbearers of peace by embracing kindness, promoting unity, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Her Excellency’s presence at the global gathering reaffirms her commitment to the vision of a peaceful, just, and prosperous society for all.
