As part of its commitment to improving the well-being of vulnerable groups, the HSK Foundation and its partners have embarked on a free medical screening exercise for 250 people with different ailments in Firo Community, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The outreach aligns with the Foundation’s core values and objectives, which centre on putting smiles on the faces of the destitute, orphans, and less-privileged individuals across Nigeria and beyond.
The exercise was organised in commemoration of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a focus on free breast and cervical cancer screening, as well as other health checks.
According to the Foundation, the programme reflects its continuous efforts to promote public health awareness, preventive care, and compliance with global health standards and best practices.
Speaking during the event, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr. Sa’adatu Shuaibu, said the outreach was aimed at early detection of cancer symptoms, improving health awareness, and empowering women with vital information on cancer prevention and other related health issues.
“Together, we are taking a giant step towards achieving a cancer-free society by deploying all necessary medical remedies and sensitisation efforts,” she said.
Dr. Shuaibu also called on critical stakeholders in the health sector to support the campaign with logistics and funding to sustain and expand its reach.
“We appeal to government agencies, private organisations, and well-meaning individuals to partner with us in promoting preventive health care and community well-being,” she added.
The outreach featured free consultations, cancer screenings, and health education sessions conducted by medical professionals and volunteers from partner organisations.
