Honourable Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, the sitting Member of the House of Representatives for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, has officially resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.

The move, announced via a formal press release, squarely blamed the party’s internal instability for his departure.
Hon. Abdullahi, who had represented his constituency on the PDP platform, stated that his decision was driven by the "persistent internal conflicts and factionalisation within the PDP, which have culminated in a prolonged party crisis."

The lawmaker asserted that this internal turmoil was directly impacting his work, as it was "adversely affecting my ability to effectively represent my constituency and perform my duties optimally." He described the choice to leave the party as a "difficult but necessary decision" made after wide consultations with stakeholders.

In outlining his continued political commitment, Hon. Abdullahi emphasized a desire to rise above party politics. He declared that the resignation is driven by "my commitment to continue serving the people of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency beyond partisan lines, ensuring that all constituents benefit from purposeful, inclusive, and effective representation."

The statement concluded with a message of thanks, with Hon. Abdullahi expressing his sincere gratitude to the PDP for the "privilege and opportunity to serve under its platform." He added that the support and experiences gained were "invaluable," and he remained "deeply grateful to the leadership and members at all levels."
