A young politician from Bauchi State, Khamis Musa Darazo, has appealed to the Presidency and the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to urgently intervene over reports that Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami may be considering leaving the party.
Darazo described the potential exit of the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy as "A major political loss and setback for the APC, both in the North and across Nigeria."
"The attention of the Presidency and the National Leadership of our great party, the APC, is urgently needed to address the growing concern surrounding our respected brother and statesman, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami," Darazo said.
He noted that as a founding supporter and loyal member of the APC, he is deeply worried by reports suggesting Pantami's possible dump of the party.
According to him, Prof. Pantami is "More than a politician, he is an intellectual, reformer, and bridge-builder who has consistently used knowledge, faith, and integrity to promote good governance and inspire young Nigerians."
Darazo praised Pantami tenure under former President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that his leadership in the Communications and Digital Economy ministry revolutionised the digital landscape in Nigeria by creating opportunities in innovation, job creation, and entrepreneurship.
He cautioned that losing Pantami would not only diminish the party's intellectual and moral strength but also send a discouraging signal to millions of Nigerian youths who view him as a symbol of integrity and visionary leadership.
Darazo therefore called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC national chairman, and other key stakeholders to engage with Professor Pantami and address any grievances or misunderstandings that may have led to his current position.
"The APC strength has always been rooted in unity, inclusion, and visionary leadership. Every loyal member is important, especially someone like Professor Pantami, whose influence and moral standing transcend party lines," he emphasised.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the Renewed Hope Agenda, Darazo urged the party leadership to act swiftly and decisively, "The APC cannot afford to lose such an invaluable pillar at this defining stage of our political journey," he concluded
