The Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Albani, has delegated the Council’s Vice Chairman, Hon. Kamilu Abdulkareem, to represent him at the ongoing 2026 Local Government Draft Budget Bilateral Session organized by the Kaduna State Ministry of Local Government Affairs.

The session, which convenes officials from all 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, is chaired by Dr. Mahmud Lawal, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and Chairman of the Local Government Estimate Committee. The meeting is being held at the Senator Uba Sani Conference Hall within the Ministry’s premises in Kaduna.

According to reports, discussions at the session focus on aligning local government budget proposals with the state’s development priorities for the 2026 fiscal year.

In preparation for the bilateral session, Sabon Gari LGA had earlier conducted extensive community consultations and stakeholder engagements across its wards. These included contributions from traditional rulers, civil society organizations, youth and women leaders, and other community representatives. Their recommendations were compiled to reflect the genuine needs and aspirations of the people in the upcoming budget.

Speaking on the LGA’s participation, Hon. Albani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive and participatory governance, emphasizing that “good governance begins with listening to the people and incorporating their voices into decision-making processes.”

The 2026 budget deliberations are expected to enhance funding for critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth development, ensuring that the welfare of residents remains central to local governance in Sabon Gari.
