The Executive Chairman of Agwara Local Government Area and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Niger State Chapter, Hon. Iliyasu Zakari, has visited victims of a recent bandit attack on the convoy of Hon. Jafaru Mohammed (Damisa), Member representing Borgu/Agwara Federal Constituency. The victims are currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Abuja.
During the visit, Hon. Zakari expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of some security personnel and left others injured. He described the attack as a significant loss not only to the people of Borgu and Agwara but also to Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
The ALGON Chairman commended the bravery and dedication of the fallen security officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and for Allah to grant eternal rest to those who lost their lives.
Hon. Zakari urged security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the attack, assuring that the government and people of Agwara remain in full solidarity with Hon. Damisa and the affected families during this difficult period.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with relevant authorities and stakeholders to strengthen community security and protect lives and property across Agwara and the wider Niger State.
