Matawalle Condoles With Family of Slain Umar S/Fada, Donates ₦10 Million and 100 Bags of Grains

Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, was among the first sympathizers to attend the funeral prayer of the late Alhaji Umar S/Fada, who was tragically killed by unknown gunmen while traveling to Kaduna in the early hours of 15th November 2025.

In a statement signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, APC Publicity Secretary, Zamfara State, it was reported that the funeral prayer took place at the Federal Low-Cost Juma’at Mosque, Tudun Wada, Gusau, led by Imam Alkali Abdullahi Yakubu.

At the deceased’s residence in Federal Low-Cost, Gusau, Matawalle described the death as a monumental loss to the state and the nation, noting that Alhaji Umar’s philanthropic efforts had positively impacted the lives of many citizens, especially his close neighbors and relatives.

He added that the late Alhaji Umar would be remembered for his honesty, patience, and openness in both political and business dealings. Matawalle prayed that Almighty Allah reward his soul with Jannatu Firdaus and grant his family the strength to bear the loss.

As a mark of support, the Minister donated ₦10 million, 50 bags of rice, 25 bags of maize, and 25 bags of millet to the family, assuring them of continued care.

Responding on behalf of the deceased’s family, Ambassador Abubakar Hussaini Moriki expressed gratitude for the Minister’s concern and support. He noted that Matawalle had canceled all his schedules for the day and traveled from his hometown of Maradun to attend the funeral, highlighting the depth of his compassion. Moriki prayed that Almighty Allah reward the Minister abundantly and accept his contributions as acts of charity.

The funeral prayer was attended by several dignitaries, including the State APC Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, Secretary Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, former party Chairman Hon. Lawal M. Liman, Publicity Secretary Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, Welfare Secretary Hon. Bashir Idris Ataka, former Commissioners, former Special Advisers, former local government chairmen and sole administrators, Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, party supporters, and other sympathizers.

Late Alhaji Umar S/Fada was laid to rest according to Islamic rites at the Unguwar Gwaza Cemetery, Gusau.
