At about 1:35 p.m., the Federal Government delegation led by Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Bauchi State to attend the funeral of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who died yesterday.
The funeral is scheduled for 3 p.m. today, Friday, at the Filin Idi (Eid Ground) in Bauchi.
The delegation representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu includes Vice President Shettima; state governors; cabinet members such as the Minister of Health, Professor Ali Pate, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; as well as lawmakers including Senator Shehu Buba. Also present is former Bauchi State Governor, Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, as well as national security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The team was received at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport by the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, alongside the Governors of Kano and Niger states.
Our correspondent reports that since Friday morning, people from across the country and beyond have been trooping into Bauchi to attend the funeral and pay their respects to the revered cleric.
