The Bauchi State Police Command has announced that it will resume the enforcement of the tinted glass permit policy across the state with effect from January 2, 2026.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Command's spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, and made available to journalists in Bauchi yesterday.
According to the statement, the Command clarified that no court order exists restraining the enforcement of the law regulating the use of tinted glass on vehicles.
"The Bauchi State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, wishes to inform the general public of the resumption of enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode A. Egbetokun," the statement read in part.
It added that the decision followed a review of prevailing security challenges and the need to enhance public safety across the state.
The Command explained that enforcement of the policy had earlier been suspended to allow motorists adequate time to regularise their documentation.
"Enforcement will therefore resume with effect from January 2, 2026, across Bauchi State," Nafiu stated.
Motorists were advised to obtain the required tinted glass permits through approved channels and ensure full compliance with existing regulations.
CP Omolori assured residents that the exercise would be conducted professionally, lawfully, and with due respect for the rights of citizens.
