The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated its leader and former governor of the state, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, on his conferment with the traditional title of Obaloyin of Yorubaland.

The title was conferred on Senator Yari by the Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, during a traditional ceremony held on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

In a statement signed by the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau, the party described the honour as well-deserved, noting that it came at a time when Nigeria continues to showcase its leaders on the global stage.

The statement said the large turnout of dignitaries and well-wishers from across the country who converged on Ibadan to witness the ceremony was a testament to Senator Yari’s acceptance and the esteem in which he is held.

According to the party, Senator Yari remains one of the most respected leaders in Zamfara State due to his integrity, sincerity, commitment to religious values, and philanthropic contributions to the welfare of the people of Zamfara and beyond.

“APC in Zamfara State is proud of Senator Yari and appreciates his steadfast role in strengthening and sustaining the party,” the statement added.

The party further prayed for divine guidance and continued elevation for the former governor as he assumes responsibilities associated with his new traditional title, describing the honour as a reflection of his national recognition across cultural boundaries.

The APC concluded by wishing Senator Yari continued success and praying that Almighty Allah grants him the wisdom to keep impacting lives positively in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.
