The House of Representatives, under the leadership of Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, has released the Certified True Copies (CTCs) of four major tax reform Acts recently signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, making them available for public record and verification.
The move follows concerns over the circulation of unauthorised and inconsistent versions of the newly enacted laws. Acting in consultation with the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Abbas directed the immediate public disclosure of the certified documents to protect legislative integrity and restore public confidence.
The Acts released include the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, the Nigeria Tax Administration Act 2025, the National Revenue Service (Establishment) Act 2025, and the Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Act 2025.
Speaker Abbas reaffirmed that only the Certified True Copies issued by the National Assembly constitute the authentic versions of the laws, stressing that any other versions in circulation are unofficial and invalid.
He added that an ad-hoc committee of the House is continuing its work to investigate the source of the discrepancies and to put measures in place to prevent similar irregularities in the future.
The House of Representatives reiterated its commitment to transparency, strict adherence to constitutional procedures, and the promotion of accountable governance in the legislative process.
