The Tinubu/Barau Organisation has been renamed the Tinubu, Abba, Barau Organisation, following the reception of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made on Monday via a statement posted on the verified official social media handle of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
According to the statement, Governor Yusuf was received at the Kano Government House amid a large gathering of party supporters and stakeholders.
While welcoming the governor into the APC, Senator Barau urged his supporters and promoters to close ranks behind Governor Yusuf in the collective interest of unity and development of Kano State.
The statement recalled the atmosphere at the event, where chants of “Sai Tinubu” followed references to Nigeria, while mentions of Kano were met with loud responses of “Sai Abba Gida-Gida” from the crowd.
“In view of this development, the various groups promoting my political aspirations under the Tinubu/Barau Organisation will now be known as the Tinubu, Abba, Barau Organisation,” the statement read.
Senator Barau noted that his entry into politics over three decades ago was motivated by a commitment to serve the people of Kano State and Nigeria, adding that he has remained steadfast in that mission.
He further reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of his unalloyed support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at advancing national unity, good governance and development.
The renaming of the organisation is seen by political observers as a strategic move to strengthen unity and cooperation within the APC in Kano State.
