Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Zainab Garba Musa as Special Assistant (Chief Press Secretary) to the Office of the First Lady of Bauchi State.
The appointment was conveyed in an official letter dated 29 January 2026, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Hammayo, on behalf of the Governor.
According to the letter, the appointment followed Zainab Garba Musa’s proven record of sincerity, dedication, hard work, exemplary conduct, and vast experience, which qualified her to oversee media relations and public communications for the Office of the First Lady.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed confidence that the newly appointed Special Assistant would bring her wealth of experience and strong sense of responsibility to bear in addressing the demands of the office, in line with the administration’s vision of effective governance and positive impact on the people of Bauchi State.
The letter further stated that her remuneration would be in accordance with existing government circulars and public service regulations, as amended from time to time.
She was also directed to declare her assets at the Code of Conduct Bureau, Bauchi Office, in compliance with constitutional requirements.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
Zainab Garba Musa, who hails from Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, is expected to play a key role in strengthening public engagement, projecting the activities of the First Lady’s office, and enhancing communication between the government and the people.
Her appointment has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, who described it as timely and well deserved.
