Blessing Dickson, a 400-level student of the Department of Public
Administration at Mewar International University (MIU), Masaka, Nasarawa State,
has come into the spotlight after an outstanding display of confidence and
loyalty to her institution earned her a total cash reward of ₦120,000.
The moment unfolded on Wednesday, February 4,
2026, during the second day of the university’s ongoing 4th edition of Cultural
Week. While students from diverse ethnic backgrounds—including Shuwa Arab,
Gbayi, Hausa, Fulani, Igala, Kanuri, Yoruba, and South-South tribes—were
participating in activities on campus, the university management announced a
challenge for students who could correctly sing the MIU anthem.
Blessing Dickson stepped forward and delivered
the anthem flawlessly, a performance that immediately drew admiration from
students and officials present at the event. In line with the management’s
earlier pledge, she was awarded ₦20,000 for meeting the challenge.
However, her impressive composure and accuracy
further caught the attention of the Pro-Chancellor (Administration) and
Proprietor of Mewar International University Nigeria, Engr. Abubakar Sani
Bello, who expressed delight at her performance. Moved by the display, he
instantly gifted her an additional ₦100,000, transferred on the spot, bringing
her total reward to ₦120,000.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the presentation, Blessing Dickson expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a proud moment in her academic journey.
“I am really proud. Thank you very much, sir,”
she said.
Her
achievement has since become a talking point among students on campus,
symbolising confidence, preparedness, and the encouragement of excellence
within the MIU community.
