The Niger State House of Assembly has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Suleiman Umar Sanda, Barden Shako, who recently returned to his Creator.
Honourable Members of the 10th Assembly, joined by former members of the 9th Assembly, attended the Janaza prayer held at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Mosque. The service drew dignitaries, political associates, community leaders, well-wishers, and the Governor of Niger State, who came to offer prayers and condolences to the bereaved family.
The late Alhaji Suleiman Umar Sanda was the father of the Honourable Member representing Bosso Constituency and Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Arc. Abubakar Suleiman Gomna.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin Daji, who was unavoidably out of town at the time of the death and the Janaza prayer, paid a condolence visit to the family immediately upon his return to the state.
During the visit, the Speaker described the deceased as a man of honour, dignity, and integrity, whose life had positively impacted his family, community, and Niger State at large. He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family—especially Hon. Arc. Abubakar Suleiman Gomna—the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
He also assured Hon. Arc. Abubakar Suleiman Gomna of his personal solidarity and that of the entire House during this difficult period, praying that Almighty Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the courage to move forward in unity and resilience.
