Renowned Islamic scholar from Kano State and President of the African Council of Astronomical Scholars, Sheikh Mujaddina Sani Kano, has led a delegation of Kano State pilgrims in offering special prayers for enduring peace, stability, and the successful conduct of Nigeria’s forthcoming elections.
The prayers were held at the sacred Hajj sites of Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and the Holy Mosque in Makkah, drawing large numbers of worshippers who also supplicated for the fulfillment of their personal and spiritual aspirations.
Speaking on the rationale behind the special prayer session, Sheikh Muhajjaddina expressed concern over the lingering insecurity in the country, noting that the crisis continues to claim lives and destroy property despite concerted efforts by the government and security agencies.
According to him, the persistence of the security challenges calls for sincere spiritual intervention and collective prayers for divine guidance and relief.
“It has become imperative for us to turn wholly to Almighty Allah, especially considering that the government has exhausted various strategies, including military efforts, yet the situation persists. We must submit our affairs to Allah, for He alone possesses the power to bring lasting solutions to these challenges,” he stated.
The Islamic cleric further urged Nigerians to intensify prayers as the nation approaches another election cycle, stressing the need for leaders who are God-fearing, just, compassionate, and committed to the welfare of ordinary citizens.
He also called on pilgrims to maximise the spiritual significance of the Hajj period by praying for both worldly success and eternal blessings, expressing optimism that Allah would answer the prayers and aspirations of the faithful.
Sheikh Muhajjaddina equally commended the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for its commendable arrangements and dedication to the welfare of pilgrims, urging the board to sustain its efforts to ensure a smooth and successful conclusion of the pilgrimage exercise, particularly during the return journey to Nigeria.
