The lawmaker representing Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has approved the immediate payment of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) fees for 101 Senior Secondary School (SS3) students from Gifted Secondary Schools located in Darazo, Soro, Sade and Kafin Madaki.
Soro disclosed this in a press statement issued yesterday in Bauchi, describing the initiative as part of his continued commitment to promoting education within the constituency.
According to him, the decision followed the successful conduct of a mock examination organised by the schools two weeks ago, in which 101 students passed, qualifying them for sponsorship of their NECO registration.
The lawmaker explained that the Gifted Secondary Schools were established by his office in 2021, alongside the Special Primary School in Lanzai, to provide quality education for talented students within the constituency.
He noted that the tuition-free merit-based schools have become a model for effective stakeholder collaboration aimed at improving basic and secondary education outcomes in Nigeria.
"We shall remain committed to upholding the noble objectives these schools represent for the good people of Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency," he said.
Soro added that his office will continue to support students through various initiatives, including the distribution of free school kits, which has been implemented consecutively for the past six years.
