Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The governor, popularly known as the “Farmer Governor,” expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, culminating in the Eid-el-Fitr festivities. His message was conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.
He commended Muslims for their commitment, perseverance, and resilience in observing the spiritual exercise, which is one of the pillars of Islam.
Governor Bago urged the faithful to continue to uphold the lessons learned from the Holy Qur’an and Hadith during Ramadan, and to remain steadfast in the virtues of charity, humility, peace, forgiveness, love, and sacrifice beyond the fasting period.
He called on Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to offer fervent prayers for an end to the security challenges affecting parts of Niger State and the country at large, noting that peace is essential for economic stability.
The governor also urged citizens to sustain prayers for leaders at all levels, seeking divine guidance and wisdom to enable them to govern justly and build an egalitarian society.
While wishing Muslims a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, he advised especially the youth to celebrate responsibly and avoid acts of violence, warning that the law would take its course against offenders.
Governor Bago further reassured residents that the New Niger Agenda remains sacrosanct.
