The Dr. Umar Farooq Abdullahi Nupe Tafsir Organisation has successfully disbursed funds to over 1,500 beneficiaries.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by Haruna Mustapha (Dago), Media Aide to the Director-General of the Niger State Bureau of Religious Affairs. He stated that the funds were generously donated by Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago during his visit to the Tafsir session on the 28th day of Ramadan.
The distribution exercise was supervised by the Sub-Committee Chairman, Mallam Danladi Abubakar Buhari, and took place at the Bosso Estate Jumu’at Mosque in Bosso Local Government Area of the state.
Imam (Dr.) Umar Farooq Abdullahi (MPI), also known as Wakilin Malaman Nupe and Director-General of the Niger State Bureau of Religious Affairs, expressed deep appreciation to the governor for his visit and support. He commended the governor’s engagement with the Tafsir gathering and his generosity towards the beneficiaries.
The committee also extended its gratitude to Governor Bago, popularly known as the “Farmer Governor,” for attending the Tafsir centre under the chairmanship of Alhaji Mohammed Nda (Makaman Kutigi).
It noted that the governor’s presence demonstrated his commitment to the propagation of Islam and the promotion of religious harmony in Niger State, reflecting a leadership style rooted in faith, inclusivity, and community support.
The committee further assured that the funds donated were duly received and transparently distributed to the intended beneficiaries in line with the objectives of the programme.
It also offered prayers for Allah’s continued guidance and strength for the governor in his service to humanity.
In their response, beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Governor Bago for the gesture and commended the committee for a transparent and well-organised disbursement process. They also prayed for Allah’s protection, guidance, and continued success for the governor and all those who contributed to the programme.
