President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has abruptly postponed his scheduled trip to Ogun State, opting instead to visit Plateau State in the wake of deadly gun attacks that claimed several lives.

The President is expected in Jos, the Plateau State capital, to commiserate with victims and the state government over the recent violence, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu had earlier planned to travel to Iperu, Ogun State, to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

However, the visit has now been rescheduled as part of a broader four-state itinerary.
Following his stop in Plateau, the President will proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday.

The statement disclosed that Tinubu will subsequently travel to Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, where he will commission the cargo airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft aimed at boosting import and export activities in the state.
He is also expected to inaugurate the newly constructed Federal Operations Unit edifice of the Nigeria Customs Service, alongside operational vehicles.

In Lagos, the President will continue his Easter engagements, including the commissioning of several infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a multi-agency complex named after the President, and a new school complex.

The President’s tour will culminate in Bayelsa State on April 10, where he is scheduled to commission projects completed under Governor Douye Diri.

The sudden adjustment to Tinubu’s itinerary underscores growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the country, particularly in Plateau State, where recent attacks have drawn national outrage.
