Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa South Senatorial Zone have presented the party’s nomination and expression of interest form to Rt. Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus La’ori, urging him to contest the 2027 senatorial election.
The move followed a large solidarity rally held on April 30, 2026, at Pwanobato Event Hall in Numan, where representatives from the nine local government areas in the zone unanimously called on the lawmaker to vie for the Senate seat.
The LGAs include Demsa, Ganye, Guyuk, Jada, Lamurde, Mayo-Belwa, Numan, Shelleng, and Toungo.
In a demonstration of support, the stakeholders procured the APC nomination form, reportedly valued at ₦20 million, and formally presented it to La’ori on May 2, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Ali Gurama said the call was based on La’ori’s track record, describing him as an experienced legislator with over 16 years of service spanning the State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
Responding, Kwamoti Bitrus La’ori, who represents Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, expressed appreciation for the gesture and accepted the nomination to contest the senatorial seat.
He urged stakeholders to intensify mobilisation efforts across the district to ensure victory at the party primaries, warning that a lack of unity could undermine their chances.
La’ori also assured that aspirants who may step down in support of his ambition would not regret their decision, pledging to run an inclusive campaign focused on the needs of the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to representing the collective interests of the zone and promised not to disappoint if elected.
The presentation of the nomination form was formally conducted by Alhaji Ali Gurama on behalf of the stakeholders.
