Stakeholders in Alkaleri local government areas of Bauchi State have pledged their support for the senatorial ambition of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed ahead of the 2027 general elections through the newly inaugurated 'Kaura Movement.'
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony of the support group in Alkaleri yesterday, the leader of the team and Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Maiwada, said the movement was established to mobilise grassroots support for Governor Bala Mohammed's senatorial aspiration in Bauchi South Senatorial District.
Maiwada described Governor Bala Mohammed as a committed democrat and grassroots-oriented leader whose administration has continued to execute impactful developmental projects across Bauchi State.
According to him, stakeholders and residents of Bauchi South Senatorial District are fully prepared to intensify mobilisation efforts through the Kaura Movement in support of the governor's 2027 ambition.
He noted that all the seven local government areas of Bauchi South Senatorial District, as well as other parts of the state, had benefited immensely from the governor’s developmental initiatives and people-oriented policies.
Maiwada further described Bala Mohammed as a visionary leader with a proven record of performance and effective governance.
He explained that the Kaura Movement was created as a formidable political structure aimed at promoting the senatorial ambition of Kauran Bauchi and supporting all aspirants contesting under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the movement comprises respected elders, youths, women groups, political stakeholders and intellectuals from across the zone, all working collectively to strengthen the political fortunes of the party and ensure sustained democratic leadership in the state.
The commissioner assured supporters and members of the movement of their unwavering loyalty and commitment toward ensuring the success of Governor Bala Mohammed and all APM candidates in the forthcoming elections.
He also called on the people of Bauchi South and the entire state to sustain their support, unity and cooperation in order to achieve victory in 2027.
Several speakers at the event passed a vote of confidence on Governor Bala Mohammed's leadership, expressing optimism that he would emerge victorious in the senatorial election.
They also commended Bala Mohammed’s leadership style, noting that his experience and political capacity would further advance the interests of Bauchi South at the national level if elected senator.
The stakeholders urged eligible citizens to take advantage of the ongoing third phase of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration exercise to enable them participate in electing leaders of their choice during the 2027 general elections.
They described the formation of the Kaura Movement as a timely political initiative capable of promoting unity and strengthening strategic political coordination within the party.
