Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has been declared the unopposed governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made by the Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee and Returning Officer, Alhaji Danlami Abubakar, at the party’s state secretariat in Minna.

The motion for the adoption of the Farmer Governor as the party’s unopposed candidate was moved by the senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa, and seconded by the Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Mrs. Afiniki Dauda.

Governor Bago expressed appreciation to APC members in the state for adopting him as the party’s unopposed candidate, describing the gesture as a demonstration of love and the strong bond between him and the people.

He said the development spoke volumes and assured party members that he would not take their support for granted.
