The District Head of Birni and Environs in the Zazzau Emirate, Barrister Muhammad Sambo Shehu Idris, Sarkin Kudun Zazzau, has conferred the prestigious traditional title of Garkuwar Sha’iran Zazzau on Sayyida Jamila Zaria Mai Capacity.
The investiture ceremony was held on Friday morning, May 8, 2026, at the District Head’s Palace in Durumin Mai Garke, Zaria.
The occasion attracted prominent stakeholders, poets, cultural enthusiasts, and admirers of the traditional institution within the Zazzau Emirate.
Speakers at the event described the conferment as a recognition of Sayyida Jamila’s contributions toward the promotion of Islamic poetry, literary excellence, and the praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon Him and His Family).
The title is regarded as one of honour and appreciation for individuals dedicated to preserving cultural heritage and advancing literary and religious expression within the emirate.
