The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Arc. Audu Sule Katagum, Wazirin Katagum and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, describing his passing as a great loss to the state’s political, professional, and traditional institutions.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of the government, his family, and the people of Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed described the late elder statesman as a loyal public servant, distinguished professional, and patriotic son of Bauchi State who dedicated his life to serving humanity with humility, commitment, and integrity.

The governor recalled with admiration the late Katagum’s contributions during his tenure as Deputy Governor under the administration of former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, as well as his service as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, Kangere, under the present administration. He noted that the deceased consistently demonstrated commitment to good governance, stability, and the development of Bauchi State.

Governor Bala Mohammed further noted that beyond politics and public service, the late Katagum distinguished himself as an accomplished architectural engineer whose professional expertise contributed significantly to the physical and infrastructural development of Bauchi State. He said his work helped promote sustainable development and strengthen the state’s built environment, leaving behind enduring legacies.

The governor also praised the late Wazirin Katagum for his wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of Bauchi State, noting that his leadership and counsel earned him respect across political, traditional, and social circles.

While mourning the loss, Governor Bala Mohammed urged the family, associates, the Katagum Emirate, and the entire people of Bauchi State to take solace in the exemplary life and contributions of the deceased, which he said will remain indelible in the history of the state.

On behalf of the government and people of Bauchi State, the governor extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Emir of Katagum, the Katagum Emirate Council, friends, associates, and all those affected by the loss.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
