Honourable Sani Ibrahim Mainasara, Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Kaduna State House of Assembly seat representing Zaria Constituency, has called on the electorate in Kaduna State to support Honourable Shehu Usman Bawa, popularly known as ABG, in the 2027 governorship election.
In an exclusive interview granted in Zaria, Mainasara stated that his endorsement of Usman was informed by the candidate’s demonstrated capacity, political experience, and commitment to inclusive and people-oriented governance.
“By 2027, Kaduna State will require leadership that is both responsive and proactive in addressing its socio-economic and security challenges,” Mainasara said. “Honourable Shehu Usman possesses the requisite vision and resolve to provide such leadership.”
The candidate noted that a central plank of Usman’s proposed administration is the adoption of a non-kinetic strategy to address insecurity across the state. He explained that this approach would emphasize community dialogue, intelligence-driven policing, and the restoration of public trust.
Mainasara observed that persistent insecurity had adversely affected agriculture, commerce, and education in several parts of Kaduna. He argued that a shift towards preventive and community-based interventions was necessary to achieve lasting peace.
On economic matters, he disclosed that Usman plans to broaden employment opportunities for the state’s youth through partnerships with private sector stakeholders and development agencies. The focus, he said, would be on agriculture, technology, and manufacturing.
The PDP candidate further revealed that women’s empowerment would feature prominently in Usman’s policy agenda. According to him, the plan includes structured skills acquisition programs aligned with market demands, complemented by access to seed capital for beneficiaries.
“Empowering women is tantamount to strengthening households and, by extension, the state’s economy,” Mainasara remarked. He urged women’s associations across Kaduna’s 23 local government areas to prepare for engagement with the proposed initiatives.
Speaking on his own legislative ambitions, Mainasara stated that his agenda for Zaria Constituency would align with Usman’s broader vision for Kaduna. He pledged to prioritize education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development if elected.
Mainasara urged voters to prioritize competence and integrity over partisan affiliations. “The 2027 election presents an opportunity to redefine governance in Kaduna State. I therefore call on all citizens to support Honourable Shehu Usman in building a secure, inclusive, and prosperous state,” he said.
