The Head of Media and Communication Strategy of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Abdullahi Idris, disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists in Bauchi.
According to him, Shayi's appointment as Village Head followed the traditional process of succession, reflecting his royal lineage and the careful selection carried out by the relevant traditional authorities.
He described Ambassador Shayi as a man of impeccable character, with an outstanding record of service and significant contributions to the development of Bauchi State and humanity at large.
In a related development, as Commander-General of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Shayi has championed peace and development initiatives across the state, particularly in the fight against terrorism, banditry, cattle rustling, phone snatching, and illegal logging.
Abdullahi Idris further stated that Shayi holds more than 30 traditional titles across Nigeria and other African countries.
He added that Shayi has received numerous national and international awards in recognition of his contributions to security, peacebuilding, sustainable human development, and community advancement.
An international fellow in global security and an expert in counter-terrorism, Shayi has participated in global security conferences in Vietnam, Germany, France, the United States, Israel, China, Egypt, and at the United Nations, among other international engagements.
He has also continued to promote national peace and security through collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in Bauchi State and beyond.
Dr Shayi is a trained security expert with professional certifications in criminology and crime management from Nigerian institutions of learning.
He is married and blessed with children.
