In a press statement issued on July 5, 2026, the association said it neither authorized nor endorsed the views expressed in the publication, stressing that it was not associated with the report in any way.
"The Association wishes to state unequivocally that it is not associated with the publication, and neither authorized nor endorsed the views expressed therein. The report does not represent the official position of PHIDMPAN," the statement read.
PHIDMPAN reaffirmed its commitment to promoting professionalism, collaboration, mutual respect, and constructive engagement among health professionals and other stakeholders in the country.
According to the association, matters concerning national public health institutions should be addressed through dialogue, evidence-based policy, and broad stakeholder consultation in the interest of Nigeria's health security.
The association also reiterated its support for initiatives aimed at strengthening Nigeria's public health system, including infectious disease prevention and control, research, workforce development, and effective institutional governance.
PHIDMPAN urged its members, development partners, government institutions, media organisations, and the general public to disregard any publication or statement attributed to the association unless it is released through its officially recognised communication channels.
The statement further emphasized the association's commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to advance public health and safeguard the health of Nigerians.
