YTWT, in collaboration with Yhunich Mentors Academy, has organized a public speaking competition that brought together young people from Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The event, held at the main conference hall of Rock Hotel in the GRA area of Zaria, was titled "Zazzau Public Speaking Contest 1.0 for Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas, Kaduna State."
According to the organizers, the competition featured talented young men and women from the two local government areas, with 50 participants qualifying after successfully completing the screening process.
Contestants delivered speeches on a range of topics, including leadership, leadership challenges, the role of youth in national development, and issues affecting young people. They also responded to questions from a panel of judges, who assessed their understanding of the topics, critical thinking abilities, and communication skills.
One of the highlights of the event was the contestants' confidence, eloquence, and composure, which earned applause from the audience as the judges evaluated their performances.
At the end of the competition, outstanding participants were presented with certificates of recognition.
Speaking with our correspondent, one of the judges, Mr. Umar Faruk, said that although he had served as a judge at numerous public speaking competitions over the years, the standard displayed at this event was particularly impressive.
He commended both the organizers and the contestants for their dedication and encouraged them to remain committed to continuous improvement in order to achieve greater success.
One of the contestants, Abdullahi Muhammad Bello, expressed delight at participating in the competition, describing it as a valuable experience that boosted his confidence and inspired him to further develop his public speaking skills.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Aliyu Suleiman, said YTWT is committed to nurturing the intellectual capacity, creativity, and talents of young people.
He said the successful conduct of the competition reflected the organization's steady progress toward achieving its objectives. He praised all the participants and urged them to remain focused, emphasizing that perseverance and continuous self-improvement are essential for success.
He also encouraged young people to remain committed to education and personal development so they can contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's development, describing the youth as the backbone of every nation's progress.
He concluded by expressing appreciation to the judges and everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the event.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Comrade Muhammad Al-Khamis, said the competition was designed to equip young people with effective public speaking and communication skills, enabling them to express their ideas clearly and confidently for the benefit of society.
He noted that the event represented another step toward achieving the organization's goals and encouraged young people to pursue education while continuing to develop their talents.
In his closing remarks, he thanked the contestants, judges, organizers, and supporters for their contributions to the success of the competition.
The event was conducted peacefully and concluded successfully.
