City College of Health Sciences and Technology Zaria has matriculated about 550 students for the year 2022/2023 academic session.
Administering the matriculation oath on the newly admitted students, Barrister Lawal Abdullahi said the oath is a legal undertaking that confirms the matriculated students as bonafide members of the academic community.
In his welcome address, the Provost of the College, Mr. Stanley Sehmasha called on the students to take their academics very seriously, focus and remain peaceful. He further added that the students are expected to shun sexual harassment, immortality, and disrespect to the authorities.
Mr. Stanley explained that establishing community Health-related institutions will support the government in improving the health sector.
He expressed satisfaction over the commitment of the Kaduna state government towards health care delivery in the state.
Deputy Chief of Staff to the Kaduna State Deputy Governor’s office, Barrister James Kanyip commended the administrator, management, and the board of trustees of the College for doing a reasonable job.
The Director of the college, Sankyai Obadiah said the college was established 5 years ago and has the highest number of accreditation courses among the private health colleges in Kaduna state.
He appreciated the management, and staff for their commitment towards uplifting the standard of the college.
However, the Chairman Board of Trustees, Sarkin Kudun Zazzau Bar. Sambo Shehu Idris advised the management to maintain a standard to achieve desired objectives.
Idris said the Zazzau emirate is always ready to give royal advice to improve the health sector.
The matriculated students expressed their contentment and promised to work hard to achieve their desired aim.
